Tablets, eBooks, 3D printing, and Remote Learning are among the leading technologies used in classrooms today.
FREMONT, CA: The use of technology in the classroom is becoming increasingly important. Human beings are now relying on technology to communicate, and over 80 percent of the population has a smart device. In order to engage students and support learning, the classroom needs to innovate. Some of the latest classroom technologies and products are being examined in this article.
The tablet: Our daily lives and the workplace are increasingly reliant on tablets. The education industry is now introducing these technologies. Tablets can replace notebooks and textbooks in schools, allowing students to keep all their work on one device and schools to reduce paper usage. The use of technology engages students more, and tablets are easier to use than computer rooms and laptop trolleys.
Ebooks: The term "ebook" refers to a publication that is available digitally. Two types of Ebooks exist - applications for digital devices like phones and tablets or E-Reader devices, which are similar to tablets but exclusively for reading Ebooks. As multiple books can be stored on one device, ebook devices, and platforms are typically cheaper. Students are required to read a large number of books in the education industry. As soon as a book is no longer part of the curriculum or becomes damaged, it is discarded, causing a vast amount of waste. Ebooks prevent this because of their extended lifespan and capabilities.
Remote Learning: Due to the global pandemic, remote learning has taken over education. Students were unable to attend classes in person, so the education industry innovated and began using video conference platforms as an alternative. During the lockdown period, student education was possible through platforms such as Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet. Through this use of technology, students were not left behind and were able to continue their education.
Using smartboards: A smartboard is a large interactive projector screen. Using a projector, they create an upscaled version of the computer screen, which can then be drawn on and controlled. Students are able to interact fully with the work on the board without using a computer in schools and classrooms. In contrast to regular whiteboards, these are not drawn on with real pens and do not need to be constantly cleaned.
The 3D printing industry: In the education industry, 3D printing is an important technology. Students studying architecture, resilient materials, and engineering can use 3D printing to create prototypes and models for their projects. Students studying science can also use this technology to print molecules and models to study.
